Wellmen grab late winner to claim all three points at Ruthin
The young Reserves side fell behind just after the half hour mark as Murray Hughes put the hosts ahead and the score remained the same until the interval.
The Wellmen came out for the second half and dominated play and on 68 minutes, Jay Wilkes brought the Wellmen level after drilling home from 12 yards.
The game looked to be heading for a draw but with a couple of minutes to go, the Wellmen grabbed a late winner. Ryan Edge (pictured) combined well with Substitute Kyle Wilkes, and from this move, Edge hammered home the winner with two minutes left on the clock.
It was a deserved victory given the second half performance and the win keeps the Wellmen top of the Reserve and Colts League, one point ahead of Penycae who also won today. The Wellmen do have 2 games in hand on the Wrexham based club.
Manager Eddie Barry was delighted with the victory and added, "The lads showed fantastic attitude and will to win today, and in the end we deserved the victory."
