The game was barely 20 seconds old and the Wellmen had taken the lead. Nathan Williams burst forward and his cross found Jake Cooke who fired the ball past the goalkeeper. With 19 minutes on the clock, the Wellmen doubled their lead. Nathan Williams again the provider as his corner finds Jay Wilkes who heads the ball home. Three minutes later it was 3-0 as Jay Wilkes grabs his second of the game, a solo run into the box before firing low past the keeper.
Rhydymwyn then grabbed two goals in a 10 minutes spell to make it 2-3 before Town increased their lead on 38 minutes through Nathan Williams who slots the ball past the keeper in a 1-1 situation to leave the score at the interval as 4-2 to the Wellmen.
The second half got underway and with 5 minutes of the half played, the Home side pull another goal back to make it 4-3. Ben Lewis was then replaved by Kyle Wilkes, and after being on the pitch for just a couple of minutes, Kyle grabbed Town's 5th with a powerful shot past the keeper.
With 64 minutes played, Town increased their lead further through Sam Edwards. There were no further goals in the match and the Wellmen picked up three important points to remain top of the Welsh National Reserves & Colts League.
After the game, player Dillon Garner added, "Good to get back to it after a few weeks out, another win for the lads!"
The Reserves face Penycae next Friday night at Halkyn Road with a 7.30pm kick off. Penycae currently sit in 2nd place in the league so a win for Eddie Barry's side would extend the lead to 7 points at the top of the table.
