Rhos Aelwyd 1-2 Holywell Town

The Reserves travelled up to Rhos looking for maximum points to consolidate top spot in the WNL Reserves and Colts League, and things didn't go according to plan when the home side took the lead on 38 minutes with a great goal from 20 yards out.

The Reserves came out at half time looking to get back in the game and on 52 minutes drew level through Jay Wilkes. With 20 minutes remaining the Wellmen took the lead through Ben Lewis, who beat 3 defenders inside the box and slotted the ball in the corner with the keeper beaten.

Manager Eddie Barry was full of praise for the lads and said it was a great battling performance against strong opposition and praised the attitude shown by the lads in getting the victory.

The win keeps the Reserves on top of the WNL Reserves and Colts League and we have now opened a 5 point gap at the top from second place Penycae with us both having played 12 League Matches. The Reserves are in Cup action next week against Penycae at Halkyn Road, with a 2.00pm kick off.
