Town have to make do with a point as decisions go against the Wellmen.

Holywell Town picked up a point at Barmouth & Dyffryn on Saturday but it should have been all three. As you may have heard, Town were desperately unlucky on Saturday when decisions went against us. First half, Danny Stanton made a great save to deny the hosts taking the lead before Tom McElmeel had a headed goal disallowed as the referee saw a push somewhere in the box. Tom then had another header cleared off the line in the dying moments of the first half.

Mark Orme took his goal well, when he volleyed the ball home from a corner before Mike Irvine deflected Stuart Rogers' free kick to equalise for the home team. Town had more hard luck as Ashley Durham had a header hit the roof of the net in the dying minutes but came back out and the referee never gave it. Graeme Williams was brought down in the 94th minute inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot, but it was heartache for Town as Steve Thomas missed the resulting penalty.

It was a good performance and in fairness, Town were worthy of all three points but settled for a draw.
