The first half was a scrappy affair with Llanfair taking the lead midway through the half with Paul Griffths penalty, a lead they took in with them at the half time interval.
Midway through the second half, Llanfair doubled their lead, again Griffiths on target for the home side. The goal shook the Wellmen into life and the lads piled on the pressure looking to get back into the game. That goal came on 71 minutes as Jamie McDaid found himself one on one with the Llanfair keeper and McDaid slotted the ball past him. McDaid drew the sides level on 78 minutes, scoring his and Town's second from the penalty spot.
Town looked for a late winner, and that nearly came as McDaid had a shot come back off the post and with a few minutes remaining, Phil Lloyd went close to snatching a late winner and the Wellmen also saw another effort blocked on the line by a Llanfair defender. It wasn't all plain sailing for the Wellmen however as Llanfair went close themselves to grabbing a late winner in the dying minutes.
