The Wellmen make it four out of four after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Guilsfield.

The Wellmen had a dream start as they took the lead as early as the 6th minute. A good move saw Mark Winslade, returning to the side after injury, picked up the ball and lay the ball off to Jamie McDaid. He controlled the ball and ran forward before firing home past Dave Littleford in the Guilsfield goal.

The next chance fell to Guilsfield, Callum Bromley's low cross eluded everyone, and made it through the box but luckily for Town, it went inches wide of John Rushton's post. Shortly afterwards, Guilsfield had a goal disallowed Aaron Edwards was in an offside position as he took his shot. With time running out in the first half, Shaun Tuck had a good chance to increase Town's lead but keeper Littleford pulled off a great save to deny Town. McDaid looked to add to his tally, but his shot went inches wide of the post before Guilsfields Aaron Edwards had a shot blocked by Gareth Sudlow. With a couple of minutes remaining in the half, Guilsfield won a free kick on the edge of the box, and Chris Cathrall's free kick hit Rushton's post and dropped back into the crowded penalty area, but Matty Harvey was first to react and cleared the ball to safety and the teams went in at the break with McDaids goal giving the Wellmen a one goal advantage.

The second half saw the Wellmen lose Shaun Tuck through injury 10 minutes into the half with Graeme Williams replacing him. With an hour on the clock, the visitors equalised through Jake Cook's penalty. Aaron Edwards was brought down just inside the box and Cook fired the resulting spot kick home past Rushton. The goal lifted Guilsfield and they went close to adding a second a minute or so later, with Cook again firing inches wide. The Wellmen regained their lead in the 65th minute. Town won a corner and from the resulting corner kick by Steve Thomas, the loose ball was fired home by Jon Jones to make the score 2-1 to the Wellmen.

Paul D Williams then broke clear down the left and thread the ball through to Mark Windlass, but his effort went over the cross bar after keeper Littleford had challenged him to the ball. Guilsfield still didn't give up, and a good cross by Callum Bromley only needed a touch by a player for the ball to end up in the net but thankfully for Town is eluded everyone and went out for a goal kick. Town were next to go close, Windlass breaking clear down the left before crossing for Graeme Williams, but his effort flew over the bar. Guilsifeld's Edwards then had a shot go over but Town held on for the three points in a great performance by all.
