The Wellmen share the spoils with the Harbourmen at Halkyn Road.

The game was only 7 minutes old when the Wellmen fell behind to an unfortunate own goal by Matty Harvey, who's back pass was overhit and flew over goalkeeper John Rushton and into the net. The Wellmen looked to get back into the game and a great move started off by Matty Hurdman saw the ball go cross field to Phil Lloyd and his cross fell to Sam Jones but his shot flew inches wide of Paul Pritchard's post.

The Wellmen were enjoying most of the possession and midway through the half, Holywell Town won a free kick in a dangerous position, but Matty Hurdman's kick flew wide of the target. THe next attack saw Sam Jones turn past the Holyhead defender and as he ran along the byeline towards goal, Jones took a shot which flew across the face of goal and all it needed was a touch but it passed the upright and out for a goal kick. Jones was involved in Town's next effort and he got on the end of a Phil Lloyd cross, controlling well before shooting but his shot hit the post and out for a goal kick.

Holyhead then had a few chances, Asa Thomas shooting wide before a few minutes later, he had an effort fly over the bar. NExt up for the Harbourman to have an effort on goal was Mel McGuiness, but he shot over John Rushton's crossbar. Holywell's Steve Thomas had a shot go over the bar before Holyhead won a free kick in a dangerous position which McGuiness took, but his free kick was gathered well by Rushton. The last effort of the half saw a great ball over the top by Matty Harvey for debutant Mark Winslade to chase, and as he broke towards goal, he was brought down by Alex Jones on the edge of the area. Jones was given a yellow card for the challenge and Matty Hurdman stepped up to take the free kick, but his effort was blocked by the wall, and the rebound fell to Brady McGilloway but his effort flew wide of the target, and the score remained 1-0 to the visitors at the break.

The second half started with the Wellmen looking for an early goal to get back into the game, and an easy cross into the box saw Paul Pritchard drop the ball but was down quick to gather the ball with Sam Jones lurking for the loose ball. Holyhead then hit a long ball over for Mel McGuinness to chase, but with Rushton rushing out to narrow the angle, McGuiness overhit the ball in an attempt to get past Rushton and the ball went out for a goal kick.

The Wellmen then brought on Wayne Edwards who had returned to the club earlier in the week and after being on the pitch for a couple of minutes, he had an effort saved by Pritchard. Shortly afterwards, Town were awarded a penalty. A inswinging corner by Steve Thomas saw Phil Lloyd rise for the ball, but he was pushed by the Holyhead defender and the referee pointed to the spot. Edwards stepped up to take the kick and hit it to the left into the net with Pritchard diving to the right to level the scores at 1-1, much to the delight of the home supporters.

McGuinness had an effort fly wide of Rushton's post before Town broke well with Brady McGilloway sprinting past his marker before laying the ball off to Lloyd, who's cross found Edwards but he miss kicked his effort and the ball was cleared to safety. This was Town's last efforts on the Holyhead goal, and in the dying minutes, the visitors had a couple of half chances to snatch a late winner but failed to test Rushton and shortly afterwards, the referee blew for full time and the points were shared.
