The Wellmen travelled to Porthmadog knowing that a win could send them to the summit of the Huws Gray Alliance League.
The Wellmen started well with Steve Lewis having a couple of chances and Connor Littler having a good effort blocked by Ceri James, before Asa Hamilton came closest for the home side but his effort was deflected for a corner. The score remained goal less at half time.
The Second half saw Holywell Town having more efforts on goal, Lewis heading over from a good Tony Roebuck cross, before Lewis again saw a shot go over the bar. Josh Roberts and Steve Thomas had efforts but they were saved or went wide of the target.
The decisive goal came on 76 minutes, when Sion Parry scored from close in to give the home side the lead. A dangerous Josh Roberts free kick cleared off the line before Porthmadog were awarded a penalty, but Mike Platt saved Ceri James' spot kick to keep Town in the game.
The home side held on for the points and Town suffered only their 3rd defeat of the season.
