Holywell Town began their Welsh Alliance campaign with a home defeat to Barmouth & Dyffryn United. Town went behind midway through the first half before Steve Thomas equalised on 35 minutes.

Despite creating a few chances, Town couldn't build on Thomas' goal and Barmouth took the lead again with quarter of an hour to go, Adam Morris scoring from a free kick which took a slight deflection to go past Danny Stanton in Town's goal.

To round off a miserable afternoon for the Wellmen, we also saw John Haseldin sent off for two yellow cards and he will miss the Tuesday's trip to Llandudno Junction.
