The Wellmen suffer a 3-1 defeat at Rhyl which see the Lilywhites leapfrog the Wellmen into 3rd place in the Huws Gray Alliance League.

The first half saw the Wellmen create a couple of good chances but failed to break the deadlock and the scores remained 0-0 at the half time interval.

The second half was barely 5 minutes old when Alex Titchiner gave the home side the lead, turning and firing low into the bottom corner. A few minutes later, Rhyl had doubled their lead when player manager Mark Connolly headed home from close range to stun the Wellmen.

Steve Lewis then won a penalty for the Wellmen after he was brought down in the area by Tony Davies and Sam Jones blasted the penalty home to reduce the arrears. The goal lifted the Wellmen and a few minutes later, a good move saw Lewis fire in a shot which goalkeeper Rory Crowther saved well to keep his side ahead in the game.

WIth Town mounting pressure on the Rhyl goal, a break a few minutes from time saw Titchiner rush forward towards the Wellmen goal and his shot beat Shaun Pearson to claim the victory for the home side.

Definately a game of two halves and the Wellmen will feel unlucky not to get anything from the game.

Yet again, the Wellmen would like to thank the large number of supporters who made the journey to Rhyl to cheer on the lads.
