Manager John Haseldin has bolstered his squad by signing Jonathon Jones from Cheshire side Winsford United.

Jones is a centre back and has been Winsford's player of the year for the past 2 seasons. Jones started his career at Chester as a youngster and had a year at Wrexham and Shrewsbury before joining Welshpool Youth Team in 2005. He has Welsh Premier League experience with Welshpool and Caersws, and has played in the Cymru Alliance for Guilsfield.

Manager John Haseldin said of the new signing, "Jon is a good footballing centre half, he is comfortable in possession and is strong in the tackle. We are delighted we have been able to bring him to the club after just missing out on him over the summer.
For different reasons we have lost 3 of our back 4 from last season plus Sion McHugh recently. It will give us good choice at centre half and excellent quality in that position and I would like to welcome Jon to the Club.

Jones added, "I'm really happy to have signed, finally, for Holywell Town after coming to a pre season session and talking to John over the summer. I'm Looking forward to coming back into the Cymru Alliance, which is a competitive league this year, and helping the team finish as high as we can, and as high as I think we should be. The lads have had a great start to the season so looking forward to coming in and working hard to help the lads carry on with the great start they've had.

The Club are waiting for International Clearance for Jones and are hoping this will be obtained so Jones is available to play on Saturday at Porthmadog.

On behalf of everyone at the Club, we would like to welcome Jon to Holywell Town Football Club.
