Holywell Town came back well to draw 5-5 with GAP Connah's Quay in their latest friendly.

Town's supporters who were at Halkyn Road on Tuesday night witnessed a remarkable comeback as the Wellmen battled hard to get a 5-5 draw against the Welsh Premier League outfit.

Trailing 2-1 at the break, with Phil Lloyd on the scoresheet for Town, things soon got worse in the second half for the Wellmen as Nomads raced to a 5-1 lead with half an hour to go on the clock.

Town soon hit back as Phil Lloyd grabbed his second before Josh Robertson and Dafydd Griffith made it 5-4 to the visitors with a couple of minutes remaining. The game seemed to be heading to a GAP Connah's Quay victory but Matty Harvey had other ideas and he saw his excellent thunder bolt in the last minute fly in to put the scores at 5-5!

What a comeback by the Wellmen and we could have sneaked a victory having two goals disallowed during the game. Next up for the 1st team is a another local derby on Saturday against Rhydymwyn FC. Kick off at Halkyn Road on Saturday is 2.30pm. Are we in for another thriller?.........
