Both teams were in midweek action this week as the lads keep up their 100% records.

The first team entertained newly promoted Kinmel Bay on Wednesday night at Halkyn Road and after falling behind to a 37th minute penalty, the Wellmen were soon on level terms when Sam Jones equalised from the penalty spot a minute after the visitors had taken the lead.

The second half was 10 minutes old when Jones got his second of the night, rounding the keeper to slot the ball home to put the Wellmen in front. Steve Thomas added a third goal 5 minutes later, pouncing at the far post before Phil Lloyd put the game beyond Kinmel Bays reach in the with a 4th on 68 minutes, before Lloyd added his 2nd and Town's 5th with quarter of an hour to go to give Town maximum points in the 3 games that they have played.

The result leaves Town in third place, 3 points behind leaders Llandudno Junction but have a game in hand on the Railwaymen. Town's next game is on Monday as Llandyrnog United visit Halkyn Road for a 11am kick off as part of the Groundhop weekend.

Holywell Town Reserves looked to build on Saturday's excellent win over Hawarden Rangers Colts and travelled to play New Brighton Villa Reserves on Tuesday night in the Welsh National Reserves and Colts League. The match was switched to Mold Alun HIgh School as Flintshire County Council were still working on their home pitch as work carried out over the summer has run in to the new season.

Town maintained their good start with a 6-1 thrashing of New Brighton Villa with goals coming from Matty Roberts, a brace by Jordan Taylor and Nathan Williams grabbed a Hat Trick to give Town the 3 points. The win see's the Reserves top of the league with 6 points out of 6, scoring 10 and conceding just the one goal! The Reserves next match is on Saturday as Argoed United visit Halkyn Road, kick off 2.30pm.
