Holywell Town Football Club are delighted to announce that we have won the McDonald’s Welsh Community Football Club of the Year award.

After winning the North East Wales region award a few weeks back, the club were put into the National category and we received confirmation this afternoon that we had won the National Award which is a great honour and gives us great pride to be crowned the winners of the 'Club of the Year award' and to be recognised for our excellent achievements last season.

Chairman Sean Elliott said, "It is a proud day today for Holywell Town Football Club. This prestigious award is a fantastic testimony to all who has helped, played & supported the club in the last 5 years. For the club to win this award it references first team, off the pitch personnel and community but importantly also the fans!!"

Manager John Haseldin added, "It's an outstanding achievement to win the Welsh Football Trust National Club of the Year award. Congratulations to everyone associated with the club".

Now in its eighth year, the annual Welsh Community Football Awards presented by McDonald’s aims to recognise and reward the people and clubs that are driving grassroots football in Wales.

Holywell Town Football Club would like to thank Sandie Mewis AM for nominating the club for the award and also to anyone else who may have nominated us.

This is a great achievement for the club and any further details will be published on here in due course.
