The new season kicks off for both the 1st Team and the Reserves on Saturday.

"We are looking forward to getting stuck into the games that matter now!"
- John Haseldin - Manager

The 1st team make a welcome return to the Cymru Alliance as they welcome Caernarfon Town to Halkyn Road. The Wellmen gained promotion to the 2nd tier of Welsh Football by winning the Welsh Alliance League last season after nearly 10 years away from the Cymru Alliance.

The visitors on Saturday are one of the favorites to win the league and The Wellmen will face a tough start to life in the Huws Gray Alliance but Town are looking forward to the match.

Town will have a new look to it after last season's championship winning side and everyone connected with the club are looking forward to the challenge.

Manager John Haseldin said, "I am happy to have completed preseason and the new signings have settled in well, and with a few of last years players returning from holidays and injuries, we are looking forward to getting stuck into the games that matter now.

It's a great way to kick off the season with a Home game against Caernarfon Town. I've got no doubt this will be a great opener and with home form being crucial over the season, we will be looking to try and get some points on the table and get us on our way.

Hasledin added, "New signing Dan Drazudkas will look to lead the forward line on Saturday with Philly Lloyd ruled out for 3 weeks with knee injury that he picked up against Wrexham. Mike Platt returns after 4 weeks away and new boys Brett Cotton, Connor Littler and Marc Gunther are all added to the squad.

Ross Ankers serves a 2 game suspension carried over from last year from when he played at Mold Alex so he will be unavailable. Lee Emberton has recovered from injury and he's hoping to make the squad , while John Leonard misses out for a wedding".

It will be a great game to kick off the season and supporters are urged to turn out in force to cheer the lads on to victory. The Clubhouse will be open from 1.30pm for your pre-match pint.

The Reserves travel to Llangollen Town Reserves for their first match in the Welsh National League Reserves Premier Division, and Manager John Gilbertson will be looking for 3 points to kick off the season following their promotion from the Reserves & Colts League last season.

The majority of last season's squad have re-signed for the club, and Gilbertson will be looking at his players to do well and to establish themselves in this tougher League than last season.

Connor Hughes and Nathan Williams will once again be looking to be amongst the goals for the club. Saturday's game see's Jak Bates unavailable for selection and possibly Dan Sim will also miss out due to being unavailable.

It's a great weekend of football for the club and hopefully, both teams will be able to kick off the season with points on the board.

Good luck lads.......
