The Wellmen returned from Buckley with all three points after a convincing 5-1 victory.

Debutant Shaun Tuck led the way with a well taken hat trick, with Ryan Davidson and Lee Healey also on the scoresheet.

Holywell Town were playing excellent football during the first half and took a deserved lead on 20 minutes through Shaun Tuck. The striker picked up the ball and weaved in and out and beat 4 defenders, before firing across face of goal and the ball nestled in the bottom corner.

The score remained 1-0 at the interval and Town increased their lead 3 minutes into the second half, when Ryan Davidson got on the end of the corner and the ball flew into the net, despite the effort of the Buckley Town defender who got a touch to the ball.

A few minutes later, Town increased their lead when the dangerous Tuck picked up the ball on the edge of the area, controlled the ball and turn and fired home past Adam McGee in the Buckley goal. Midway through the half, Buckley pulled one back when goal keeper John Rushton clearance somehow found his own net from Steve Thomas' back pass, but any fears of a Buckley fight back were quashed a couple of minutes later when Lee Healey scored Town's 4th, with a brilliantly taken goal.

Town completed the scoring on 71 minutes when Tuck completed his hat trick, the ball finding him in the penalty area before he turned and fired the ball home, much to the delight of the supporters behind the goal Holywell were attacking.

It was an excellent performance and the result moves Town up to 5th in the lead, 3 points behind leaders Prestatyn Town.

THe Reserves welcomed Saltney Town Reserves to Halkyn Road on Friday night and fell to a 2-1 defeat. Nathan Williams gave Town the lead after 10 minutes but the visitors scored another two goals to take home the points.

Next up for the Wellmen is a home game against Mold Alexandra next Saturday, kick off 2.30pm, whilst the Reserves travel to Castell AC.
