Holywell Town have been crowned FAW Champions after a thrilling 4-2 win over Penrhyndeudraeth at Llandudno FC.

This is the second time in recent years that the Wellmen have lifted the trophy after winning it back in 2010/11 Season.

Phil Lloyd gave Town a great start, heading home on 12 minutes from a Steve Thomas corner. Penrhyndeudraeth were back in the game on the stroke of half time after Paul Roberts tucked the ball home.

Steve Thomas put Town in the lead again on 55 minutes with a brilliant goal before Penrhyndeudraeth equalised on 64 minutes through Tom Hughes.

Phil Lloyd got his second of the game on 70 minutes to give Town the lead then Sam Jones wrapped up the game from the penalty spot with 10 minutes remaining after Tom McElmeel had been fouled in the penalty area.

At the full time whistle, Town players celebrated in front of their excellent fans who had turned up to support the Wellmen and the celebrations continued well into the early hours.

As Town won promotion into the Cymru Alliance League, we will be unable to defend the trophy next season as the competition is only open to clubs from Tier 3 down.

Excellent win lads and the Treble is still on!!
