Frost causes postponment of game

The recent cold weather snap caused Saturday's game against Llanfair United to be postponed.

With 85% of the pitch in perfect playable condition, the match officials had their concerns with a small area in the shadow of the stands which was frozen and called the game off on health and safety grounds.

We did suggest moving the touchlines in a few yards and worked on thawing the patches of ice in an attempt to get the game played but to no avail, despite both teams happy to play the game. As you can see from the picture, the part of the pitch in the shadow of the stand was the worse affected area and the picture does look worse than it actually was.

The Club would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused for Saturday's late postponement and would like to thank Llanfair United for their understanding and co-operation ahead of the proposed kick off time.

The Reserves match at FC Nomads also fell foul to the weather as their pitch in Wepre Park was also frozen and the match was called off by a local referee.
