Holywell Town have been crowned champions of the Welsh National Premier League.

Following today's announcement by the Football Association Of Wales that all domestic football is to be curtailed due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, it has been confirmed that Holywell Town were crowned champions of the Welsh National Premier League.

The final table (see picture) was decided on an unweighted points per game method to decide the final standings. This meant the Wellmen finished in 1st place on 42 points from the 17 games played, with a points per game total of 2.47. Rhostyllen finished the season in the runners up position.

Secretary Steve Roberts said, "Despite it not being the way we wanted the season to end, I am extremely proud of the achievements of the Holywell Town side this season and we fully deserved to be crowned champions. I would like to thank John Haseldin and his Management Team for their effort, along with all the players who have represented the side this season. Also congratulations to all the volunteers who play a part in the teams success. Also a big mention to the supporters who have followed us all season, both home and away, and we can't wait to be able to celebrate properly with you once safe to do so."

As mentioned in the FAW Press Statement, no decision has yet to be made on promotion and relegation between leagues and a decision will be made in due course. As soon as we hear their decision we will inform supporters via the website and social media channels.

Once again, great news and a massive well done to all for their effort this season.

A further update to this post will be made in due course.
