Last season, we entered the competition as a 'Wildcard' entry, but with Town finishing 5th in the Huws Gray Alliance, we were automatically entered into the competition.
The draw has recently taken place and we have been drawn at home to recently promoted Cefn Druids.
In a repeat of last season's NEWFA Challenge Cup, the Wellmen will look to avenge the Cup Final defeat and progress into the second round.
Last season's competition saw the Wellmen beat Buckley Town in the 1st round, but bowed out of the competition against Welsh Premier League Champions TNS at their Park Hall Stadium.
The Wellmen are hoping for a another great experience of playing in the competition and the date of the match will be announced shortly.
The draw for the first round of next season's Word Cup was made at Saturday's annual general meeting of the Welsh Premier League.
Last season's semi-finalists - The New Saints, Denbigh Town, Carmarthen Town and Gap Connah's Quay - received byes into the second stage.
