League Leaders Penycae faced Llay Welfare at Llay, and a draw or better by the league leaders would have been enough to crown them as Reserves and Colts League Champions.
But 3rd place Llay Welfare beat the league leaders 3-1 which meant that Holywell Town Reserves, who find themselves 5 points behind the league leaders, can now win the league if they win their remaining two matches.
The Wellmen face Coedpoeth on Saturday, the first game of a double header against Coedpoeth as the sides face each other again at Halkyn Road next Wednesday night. Victory on Saturday would set up a must win game for the Reserves next week if they are to be crowned League Champions. Saturday’s match kicks off at 2.30pm at Coedpoeth and if any supporters want to attend the game, their home ground is situated on Pengelli Playing Field in Coedpoeth, postcode LL11 3RL. If travelling from Wrexham, follow the A525 for Ruthin and when entering Coedpoeth village, the ground can be found on your left.
Good luck lads…….you can do it!
