The Wellmen welcome Wrexham Youth Academy to Halkyn Road on Tuesday evening.

The Wellmen’s preparation for the forthcoming season continues on Tuesday night with the visit of Wrexham Youth Academy to Halkyn Road. Members of the Youth setup at Wrexham have played a part in some of the seniors pre-season games over the past couple of weeks so the standard of the players will be good and it will be a good test for the Wellmen. Matches in the past between the sides have always been good and hopefully this week’s match will be the same.

The match comes a few days after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester based Avro, and Town will be looking to get back to winning ways with the visit of Wrexham Youth on Tuesday. Jake Cooke (pictured) got the Wellmen back into the game on Saturday with a great individual goal, cutting in beating a couple of players then firing the ball past the Avro goalkeeper. Cooke will again be looking to build on his impressive pre-season so far as he makes the step up to the first team from the Reserves.

Captain Tony Roebuck is also having a great pre-season and leads the line well and has put in impressive performances to date, and new defenders Jacob Wise and Lee Butterworth have settled in well along the back line next to James Graham. Manager John Haseldin will again be looking at his players to work their way into his plans for the new season and hopefully all will players selected will give it their all to get the victory over Wrexham Youth.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm and hopefully see you there……..
