The Wellmen return to Halkyn Road on Saturday looking to get their home win of the season in front of their home supporters.

They return to league action after Tuesday night’s defeat to Gresford Athletic in the NEWFA Challenge Cup. Everyone connected with the club were pleased with Tueday night’s performance despite the result, as all the lads gave 110% and were very unlucky not to have won after the Gresford goalkeeper kept his side in the game with a string of important saves.

The game comes on the back of last weeks impressive win against Cefn Druids at The Rock, Town will be looking for 3 points to keep in touch with the sides above them. A brace of goals by Shaun Tuck and further goals by Paul Williams, Mark Connolly and a James Graham penalty gave the Wellmen the points and we will be looking for more of the same on Saturday.

Saturday’s opponents Plas Madoc will have to be respected, as they gained promotion to the Premier Division last season after going all season unbeaten, winning 20 of the 22 games they played and drew the other 2. Not to be satisfied with that trophy, the side also went and won their League Cup to make it a memorable season for all involved with the club. The Wellmen will have to be on their best to thwart the opportunities in front of goal for their strikers, especially Nicky Williams, who recently scored 8 goals in their Welsh Cup match at Llanerchrugog, but this isn’t his best during a game as he once scored 10 goals when the side played in the North East Wales League.

The match kicks off at 2.30pm, and with no Premier League games clashing with the kick off, the club are hoping for a good turnout of Supporters to cheer the lads on.

See you there…
