The Wellmen go back in search of FAW Trophy Cup Glory on Saturday and make the short journey to Hawarden Rangers.

It means a lot to me, the club and the supporters having won it twice over the years so I’m sure the supporters will be out in their numbers to cheer us on.
- John Haseldin - Manager
The Wellmen will be hoping for another good cup run and hopefully will be looking to make it a hat Trick of FAW Trophy success’ in recent years after winning the trophy in 2011 and 2015. Who can forget the first time the Wellmen won the trophy, where three goal in injury time saw the Wellmen edge out Conwy Borough 3-2 at Rhyl, before the 4-2 victory over Penrhyndeudraeth at Llandudno in 2015 (See Picture)
Manager John Haseldin remembers the games well and said, “We are all looking forward to the game at Hawarden on Saturday, it’s a special competition for the club having won it twice previously and we will want to do well in it again.
It means a lot to me, the club and the supporters having won it twice over the years so I’m sure the supporters will be out in their numbers to cheer us on.
It’s a tricky away tie so we will have to make sure we are focused on getting the job done and making sure it’s our name in the hat for the next round.
Hawarden have enjoyed a good start to the season and are top of the Welsh National League Division one table going into the game.
The Wellmen will be without Jason Renshaw and Jack Pennington but welcome back Mike Platt, Mark Connolly, Phil Lloyd, Jake Cooke and Sam Jones who all missed last week’s 4-0 win over Plas Madoc. Shaun Tuck was amongst the goals again last week and will be looking to continue his great start to the season.
The match kicks off at 2.30pm at Hawarden Gladstone Playing Field and hopefully, a lot of you will make the short journey down the A55 to cheer the Wellmen on to victory.
