The Wellmen returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Ruthin Town at the Bartons North Wales Stadium

The match got underway and the Wellmen conceded an early penalty which saw the visitors take the lead through Gwion Owen. The Wellmen didn't let their heads drop and with nearly half an hour on the clock, they equalised through Danny Andrews, heading home a crosss by Jamie Breese.

The Wellmen continued to pile on the pressure but were unable to grab another goal and the sides went off at the break all square.

The second half was a different tale, the Wellmen pressed from the start and were rewarded in the 60th minute through Breese. A deep cross from Ryan Edwards finds Gareth Evans who lays the ball across goal and Breese was on hand to tap the ball home to give the Wellmen the lead. A few minutes later the Wellmen had increased their lead and it was Breese again who found himself on the scoresheet, a great through ball for Breese and he slots it past the advancing keeper.

The Wellmen increased their lead further in the 66th minute, Morgan Murray was fouled on the edge of the box, Danny Andrews free kick into the box saw the Ruthin keeper come out but he collided with his defender and the loose ball fell to Danny Sullivan who steered the ball home.

WIth 75 minutes on the clock, the Wellmen grab their fifth of the game. Danny Andrews' cross deceives everyone and ends up in the back of the net. The Wellmen continued to press and Macauley Taylor went close in the dying minutes and soon after, the referee blew for full time and the Wellmen fully deserved the victory and gained revenge on Ruthin Town who knocked them out of the Welsh Cup a couple of weeks earlier.

All eyes are now focused on Guilsfield's trip to Holywell next Saturday as the Wellmen look to pick up another three points to keep the pressure on Airbus UK Broughton and Colwyn Bay at the top of the table.
