Wellmen fall to defeat at Penrhyncoch
The Wellmen gave debut's to Jake Cooke and Ryan Jones, who both have put in great performances for the Reserves in recent weeks and the first real chance of the afternoon fell to Mark Winslade, who was put through by Steve Lewis, but the goalkeeper pulled off a fine save to deny Town's forward. The wellmen were dominating and the home side keeper yet again came to their rescue midway through the half, saving Matty Harvey's header.
Debutant Jake Cooke very nearly scored on his debut, Phil Lloyd crosses to Cooke, but his shot goes over the bar and despite the chances, both sides go in at the break all level at 0-0.
The Wellmen again create a couple of chances in the second half and midway through the half, against the run of play the home side take the lead through Sion James. The Wellmen were unable to grab an equaliser and it was the home side who took the points.
Manager John Haseldin added, "We travelled down to Penrhyncoch with noteable absentees and our side had a few youngsters in it today with (Jake) Cooke and Ryan Jones, along with Brady McGilloway and Jack Pennington. We gave the young lads a chance and fair play, they didn't let us down.
