Holywell Town 4-0 Holyhead Hitspur
Wellmen fire 4 goals for second time in a week to seal another great victory.
With other League teams in Cup Action, the Wellmen faced Holyhead Hotspur in the only Huws Gray Alliance game of the day, and picked up another 3 points after a 4-0 victory against the Anglesey side.
In-form striker Steve Lewis, fresh from his hat trick last week against Airbus once again picked up the match ball after firing another hat trick today. He opened his account on 14 minutes to give the Wellmen a great start, and Jon Jones followed that up with a headed goal with half hour on the clock to give Town a 2-0 half time lead. The Wellmen had Shaun Pearson to thank after a couple of good saves in the first half, especially one with the score at 0-0 to keep Holyhead at bay.
The second half was less than 10 minutes old when Lewis added his second, tapping home at the far post before rounding off his hat trick on 68 minutes, after cotrolling the ball just outside the area and firing in an unstoppable shot past Paul Pritchard for his 18th goal of the season. The Wellmen could have easily won by a bigger margin, with Lewis going close on a couple of occasions and also hitting the crossbar, and Graeme Williams also hit the side netting after rounding the keeper but couldn't convert from a tight angle after the Holyhead Hotspur defender had got back to put in a challenge as he was about to shoot goalwards. Yet again, Pearson pulled off a good save to prevent Holyhead getting back into the game when the score was 2-0 and he fully deserved his clean sheet.
Another great result for the Wellmen who move up to 3rd in the league, and face a tough trip next week away to Penrhyncoch.
Well done lads.....
