Great win again today which see's us in the Cookson Cup final for the second year running. And we had to do it the hard way as our goalkeeper Danny Stanton was taken to hospital midway through the first half with a suspected broken nose. Attacker Graham Boylan had to deputise in between the sticks.
Phil Lloyd was the hero today, scoring a well deserved hat trick. Paul D Williams scored the 4th from the penalty spot after Steve Thomas was brought down by goalkeeper Carl Jones who was shown the Red Card with the scores 3-0 to Town. Paul D Williams stepped up and scored to make it 4-0. Sam Jones rounded off the scoring in the 76th minutes, curling the ball into the top corner to round off an emphatic win for the Wellmen.
The victory was marred by Stanton having to go by ambulance to hospital but hopefully the injury isn't as bad as first feared and he be back between the sticks sooner rather than later.
