The draw has taken place and Holywell Town travel to Aberystwyth in the 3rd round of this season's Welsh Cup Competition.

"It doesn't get much tougher than a Welsh Premier League team away from home....."
- John Haseldin - Manager

The Wellmen's reward for beating Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant on Saturday see's Town travel to the Welsh Premier side on the 3rd of December looking for a place in the next round.

Aberystwyth Town, currently in 8th place in the Welsh Premier League, are no strangers to us in the Welsh Cup Competition, as we have faced each other twice in the past few seasons with the Welsh Premier League side beating us on both occasions.

We first met each other in the Semi Final of the competition back in 2013/14 where the game was played in Newtown, but despite taking an early lead, the Seasiders saw themselves progress into the final beating us 3-1. The clubs then drew each other the following season, this time at Halkyn Road but it was a much closer affair with the Welsh Premier League side progressing into the next round after a tense penalty shoot out after the game finished 0-0 AET. The Welsh Premier League side could count themselves lucky to win due to the Wellmen's performance that day, so Town will be hoping its a case of 3rd time lucky this time around.

Manager John Haseldin said, "I'm not surprised with the draw, its the third time we have drawn them in the past 4 years. It doesn't get much tougher than a Welsh Premier League side away from home but we will do our homework and have them watched and see if we can cause an upset."

The Wellmen will no doubt have a good following behind them down at Aberystwyth and the supporters will be praying John Haseldin's men can cause an upset. Travbel details to the game will be announced in the next few days and supporters are urged to book early on the coach to guarantee their seat.

The date for the match is yet to be confirmed but will likely be played on Saturday 3rd December. Details will be announced as soon as it is known.
