Holwyell Town defeated Llandudno Junction by eight goals to nil at Halkyn Road this evening.

I'm pleased with the big win tonight, tougher games to come but glad all the goals were shared around, and another clean sheet. Now onto Saturday......"
- John Haseldin - Manager

With the match being abandoned at the first time of asking after 20 minutes back in February, and the Wellmen 4 goals to the good at the time, Town did not want to slip up against bottom placed Junction and the Wellmen had a good start after 10 minutes when Shaun Tuck opened up the scoring, beating the offside trap and ran towards goal, he rounded the advancing keeper and slotted the ball home from a tight angle.

WIth half an hour played, the Wellmen doubled their lead. A corner from the left by Steve Thomas was only partially gathered by Tom Hooson in the Jucntion goal and Jon Jones was first to react and tapped the ball home. On the stroke of half time, the Wellmen added a third through inform Mark Winslade, who slotted home at the far post after a good cross into the box.

There was no way back for Junction and Sam Jones was next on the scoresheet, firing home Town's 4th on 55 minutes, as he picked up the ball on the edge of the box and fired into the far corner with Hooson beaten. Shaun Tuck was replaced on the hour mark by Lee Davey for his home debut, and barely a few minutes had passed before Davey had capped his debut with a goal, heading home from a cross from the left by Thomas. Matty Harvey header a few minutes later made it 6 for the Wellmen before Davey scored his second of the night, turning and firing home from the edge of the area.

Paul Williams rounded off the scoring, scoring from t he edge of the area after a great move involving Winslade and Brady McGilloway to make it 8-0 and to give the Wellmen their second 8-0 victory of the season.

Manager John Haseldin added, "I'm pleased with the big win tonight, tougher games to come but glad all the goals were shared around, and another clean sheet. Now onto Saturday......"
