With the Wellmen looking for points to ease their relegation fears, the Wellmen started the strongest of the two sides, with Damian Ketley and Mark Winslade looking dangerous upfront.

Aaron Pomeyie made a good run into the box and his shot was saved by Mike Jones, before Jon Jones goalbound header at the far post was deflected out for a corner.

Guilsfield also had chances with Mike Platt called into action on a couple of occasions, but despite chances for both sides, the score was goalless at the half time interval.

The sides came out for second half and again, both sides created chances, with Mike Platt in fine form saving well from Danny Barton. Guilsfield keeper Mike Jones was also on hand to save chances from Jamie McCall and Jack Pennington.

The deadlock wasn’t broken and the final score was 0-0, which was probably a fair reflection of the game.

Manager John Haseldin added, "Today's point at Guilsfield was probably a good point at perhaps a bad time. I know we can play better as well but pleased that we didn't lose and the players got a point for the determination they showed. They stuck to their task and created chances but we will have to settle with a point going into next week's game.

Everyone worked their socks off, especially the front two, the midfield boys put themselves about, the defenders defended for their lives when the ball come in and when all of that failed, Platty did job and he did it superbly.

The point means the Wellmen fight for safety goes to the final game of the season next weekend against Holyhead Hotspur, where victory for the Wellmen, along with Penrhyncoch losing would see the Wellmen finish outside of the bottom three and league safety secured.
