The first half was pretty evenly balanced, with both sides having efforts on goal but neither team were able to make the breakthrough and the score remained goalless at the break.
The second half was barely a few minutes old when Town took the lead through Lee Healey. A great through ball by Sam Jones put Lee Healey (pictured) in on goal, and he slid the ball past the advancing keeper, much to the delight of the supporters around the ground.
Healey grabbed his and Town's second on the hour mark, he beats the challenges of his marker, before cutting inside and unleashing a shot which flew into the net with the keeper beaten at his near post. Healey very nearly completed his hat trick shortly after but his volley crashed against the crossbar and came back into play before getting cleared by the visitors defence.
Conwy Borough gave themselves a lifeline as the game entered the final 10 minutes, Joe Chaplin capitalising on an error in the Wellmen's defence and saw him fire past John Rushton to make it 2-1.
Any fears of a Conwy equaliser were quashed a couple of minutes later as Graeme Williams fires home after picking up the loose ball in the penalty box. The game was won and when the referee blew for full time, the home supporters left Halkyn Road happy that Town had upped their game in the second half and came out victorious.
Manager John Haseldion tweeted after the game, "Slow start but very good second half, finishing master class from Lee Healey who was unlucky not to get a hatrick. Big credit to Graeme Williams who came on early and changed the game, Class act!"
Town next travel to Coedpoeth for the Welsh Cup 1st round tie next Saturday with kick off being 2.00pm. More details to follow during the week.
