Holywell Town travelled to Denbigh Town and returned home with all 3 points after a 4-0 victory.

"Happy to score my first of many goals for Holywell Town, and also 2 assists! Brilliant 4-0 away win for the team!"
- Jamie McDaid

With barely a couple of minutes on the clock and supporters still coming through the turnstiles, The Wellmen took the lead through Paul Williams. Despite creating more chances and having a couple of penalty appeals turned down, the Wellmen had to wait until the 25th minute to grab their second of the game, Jamie McDaid opening his goalscoring account with the Wellmen as he beat his defender then fired past goalkeeper Jon Hill-Dunt.

Shortly afterwards, it was 3-0. McDaid again beat his man and rounded the advancing keeper, before crossing the ball into the path of Brady McGilloway who slotted the ball home. A couple of minutes later, Denbigh Town won a penalty as Paul D Williams fouled their forward, but Jake Eyre's spot kick was brilliantly saved by Jon Rushton to keep the score at 3-0 to the Wellmen at the break.

With an hour on the clock, Town grabbed their fourth goal of the afternoon through Matty Hurdman. Phil Lloyd picked up the ball on the edge of the box and his shot across goal was going out for a goal kick, but McDaid was on hand to keep it in at the byline, and his lay off was perfect for Hurdman to fire home his first goal for the club.

Denbigh Town had a couple of chances late on to grab a consolation goal, but The Wellmen's victory was well deserved and after a difficult few weeks on the football pitch, it was great to get back to winning ways.

Manager John Haseldin said after the game, "Massive win today, a Holywell performance of old that, bursting with passion and desire and quality came through. I hope the Supporters that have stuck with us over the last couple of months enjoyed that today, as its easy to stay away when been let down lately."

Jamie McDaid added, "Happy to score my first of many goals for Holywell Town, and also 2 assists! Brilliant 4-0 away win for the team!"

The victory see's the Wellmen in 8th position in the Huws Gray Alliance League, and next week, we welcome Porthmadog to Halkyn Road.

The Reserves were due to play Castell AC last night at Halkyn Road, but after heavy rain during the day saw the pitch fail a pitch inspection and the match will be re-arranged for the future.
