There was mixed fortunes for the Wellmen this afternoon with the first team winning at Maghull but the Reserves fell to defeat at Caerwys.

Over on Merseyside, the first team played West Cheshire League Champions Maghull and Town took the lead on 25 minutes through Phil Lloyd.

Paul Williams confirmed the win scoring in the 79th minute to give Town a 2-0 victory. The result rounded off the 1st Team's Pre-Season preparations and the win meant that Town were unbeaten going into next week's first League game of the season against Gwlachmai.

The Reserves however fell to defeat at Caerwys as the hosts ran out 5-3 winners. Town were forced to play last half hour of the game with 10 men due to injuries sustained to a few of Town's players. Despite the defeat, it was another great run out for the Reserves who travel to Hawarden Rangers next Saturday in their last friendly before their league commences the following week.
