First team knocked out of League Cup but Reserves progress into Round 2 in their League Cup

The First Team made the long trip to Mid Wales to face Penrhyncoch and unfortunately, lost 3-2 to be knocked out of the League Cup at the first hurdle. Town's goals coming from Lee Healey and Matty Harvey.

The Reserves welcomed Brymbo to Halkyn Road in their league cup tie, and found themselves behind after 10 minutes. 5 minutes before the break, Nathan Williams equalised for the Wellmen with a curling shot from the edge of the box. With 3 minutes remaining of the 90, Luke Wandless put the Wellmen ahead but the visitors equalised in the 90th minute.

With no further goals scored in extra time, the match went to penalties and the Wellmen edged it 3-2 on pens. Jay Wilkes, Nathan Williams and Dan Sim getting the Wellmen's goals from the penalty spot.

The Draw for the next round of the Reserves League cup will be made shortly and good luck to Penrhyncoch in the next round of the Huws Gray League Cup.
