1st Team progress in FAW Trophy but Reserves held at home

Holywell Town were in FAW Trophy Cup Action today and travelled to Amlwch Town looking to progress in the competition that they won back in 2010/11.

The Wellmen won 4-0 and took the lead midway through the first half from a John Leonard penalty. Town added a second on the stroke of half time as Graeme Williams fired home to give Town a 2-0 lead at the break. A couple of minutes into the second half, Paul Williams added a 3rd before Phil Lloyd got Town's 4th midway through the second half which was the final goal of the game and sealed Town's win and our name still in the hat for the next round which will be drawn early next week.

The Reserves welcomed Brickfield Rangers to Halkyn Road and found themselves 2 goals down midway through the second half, but a Nathan Williams goal pulled them back into the game before a last gasp equaliser by Ashley Davies meant the points were shared.

The Reserves remain top of the league having won 5 and drawing the once from the 6 matches they have played this season, 4 points ahead of FC Queens Park who are in second place.
