The 1st Team are in FAW Trophy action whilst the Reserves travel to Ruthin Town in the Reserves and Colts League.

All eyes will be on Halkyn Road this weekend as Holywell Town aim to progress into the 4th round of the FAW Trophy which we won back in 2010/11 Season.

Following the victory over Amlwch Town in the previous round, Town were draw to face another Welsh Alliance Division 2 side in Nantlle Vale, and The Wellmen are facing a tough game on Saturday as the visitors have played 5 and won 5 in their league matches to date.

Manager John Haseldin has a near full strength side to choose from but missing from the squad will be Lee Emberton who picked up a groin injury half hour into last week's game at Barmouth & Dyffryn and Phil Lloyd who has other commitments.

Our visitors have improved over the past couple of seasons and now are one of the favourites to gain promotion back into Division 1. With players such as Neil Thomas and Simon Kay registered with them, they have the experience there to help the younger members of the squad progress up the League, and the Wellmen will need no reminding of Neil Thomas after our encounters against Caernarfon Town a couple of season's ago.

The match kicks off at the usual 2.30pm time despite what you may read on various websites that the kick off is 1.30pm.

The Club would like to add that the Clubhouse will be open after the game but unfortunately no alcohol will be on sale on Saturday.

The Reserves travel to Ruthin Town looking to bounce back from last weeks 4-2 defeat at home to Mold Alex Colts.
Managers John Gilbertson and his Assistant Gareth Thomas will announce their side nearer to the weekend but looking to add to last weeks goals are Danny Sim and Jamie Roberts.

Victory would keep the Reserves top of the Welsh National Reserves and Colts league and after last week's defeat, a victory would get last weeks result out of the system.

Kick off at Ruthin Town is 2.0
0pm.
