John Haseldin strengthened his squad last week by signing Shaun Tuck from AFC Liverpool.

I’m here to score goals and win games with the club......

International clearance was granted on Friday afternoon which meant Tuck was eligible to play last Saturday against Buckley Town. A prolific goal scorer, Tuck has previously played for Marine FC, Warrington Town, Colwyn Bay and AFC Liverpool.

Tuck became an instant hero with the Wellmen Supporters last weekend in the derby match against Buckley Town by scoring a hat trick on his debut.

Tuck said, “The trouble I’ve had has all been in the past. I’ve learned a big lesson and accepted the punishment. I’ve completed all the courses I have turned my life around and become a father. We all make mistakes in life and I’m no different…. I’m here to score goals and win games with the club.

I can’t wait to be a part of the exciting times ahead. I’ve spoke to the gaffer (John Haseldin) for months and met him before signing and he’s someone I can’t wait to play for. I’ve met the lads an trained with them an all have made me feel really welcome at the club and get back doing what I do best scoring goals.”

Manager Haseldin was delighted with capturing Tuck’s signature and said, “I’ve watched him play on a number of occasions and have tried twice before to sign him. I’ve kept in touch with him over last 12 months and I’m delighted to finally get him in.

I’ve got to know him really well and we have spoken about his past and as far as I’m concerned that’s exactly what it is. I’d ask people to judge him on his performances for the club and not what mistakes he’s made before. He’s lives for football, wears his heart on his sleeve and leaves every ounce of energy out on the pitch as well as being an outstanding finisher. It’s no secret we haven’t scored as many as we’d like but Shaun is guaranteed to score goals and with our excellent defensive record he will really improve our team.”

Tuck will make his home debut on Saturday against Mold Alex, and hopefully will add to his goal tally by finding the net against our near neighbours.
