The Wellmen come out on top in the battle of the top two!

Holywell Town travelled to Llandudno Junction and knew it would be tough against the team who were 2nd in the league and in an evenly fought first half, the hosts took the lead on 35 minutes through Mike Lundstram. Town were level a few minutes later as Phil Lloyd equalised on the stroke of half time.

Town came out for the second half and took control of the game, and 5 minutes after the restart, Town had taken the lead when Lloyd headed home at the far post to score his second of the afternoon.

Despite a lot of possession and chances, Town could not find a way past Junction's man of the match Gwydion Owen in between the sticks and disaster struck in the final 10 minutes when Junction were awarded a penalty. Lundstram stood up to take and luckily for Town, Mike Platt produced a great save to keep Town's lead intact. A few minutes later, Town sealed the points when Sam Jones fired home his 12th goal of the season, much to the delight of the large Town supporters who were at the game.

Town fully deserved the 3 points and the win opened up a 5 point gap at the top of the league.
