Holywell Town moved back up to second place after a resounding 3-0 victory at Gresford Athletic.

The group are getting stronger every week and a great buzz around the team at the moment.
- John Haseldin - Manager

Clappers Lane hasn't been a good place to go over the past couple of seasons for the Wellmen but from the first whistle yesterday, the Wellmen gave it their all and the result was never in doubt.

Steve Thomas (pictured) opened the scoring in the 7th minute, breaking the off side trap and left one on one with the keeper, and he beat the keeper with a great finish. A few minutes later, Town had doubled their lead. Thomas was felled in the box and Sam Jones made no mistake from the penalty spot much tot he delight of the large number of supporters who had made the journey to Gresford.

Town went in at the break two goals to the good, and despite creating chance after chance, The Wellmen could not add to their tally until the 88th minute when Steve Lewis got the goal to wrap the game up and 3 more points on the board for the Wellmen.

"It was a fantastic away performance today by Holywell Town, we dominated the game from start to finish and it should have been a few more!. The group are getting stronger every week and a great buzz around the team at the moment." said Manager John Haseldin at the end of the game.

Town will be looking for three more points next week as we welcome bottom placed Llandudno junction to Halkyn Road. Kick off 2.30pm.
