Holywell Town do the treble with victory in the Mawddach Cup Final.

Played in front of a good crowd at Bangor City's ground, the Wellmen came from behind to beat Llanrug United 3-2 in the Mawddach Cup Final.

Town had a couple of chances early on but failed to take the lead and were punished on 27 minutes as Jonathon Peris Jones gave Llanrug the lead. Despite creating chances, Town had to wait until the 67th minute to draw level when Matty Harvey headed home a Sam Jones free kick.

The game went into extra time and a few minutes into the first period, Town took the lead as Phil Lloyd broke through and his powerful shot hit the cross bar and bounced down over the line to give Town the lead. The lead was shortlived however as Gethin Phillips equalised for Llanrug a couple of minutes later as he shot home through a crowded penalty area.

The game was looking for a winner, and luckily for Town that came through Super Sup Luke Tyson, who's touch from a Steve Thomas cross was enough to beat Dylan Roberts in the Llanrug goal and went in via the post to give Town the lead with around 10 minutes to go.

Mass scenes of celebration followed and at the final whistle, Town were victorious and had done the treble by adding the Mawddach Cup to the Welsh Alliance League Trophy and the FAW Trophy won a few weeks ago. The win ended a marvelous season in the history of Holywell Town Football Club and everyone connected with the club can be proud of everyone's achievements this season.
