Holywell Town draw at home to Cefn Druids and Reserves fall to defeat at Corwen.

Holywell Town first team welcomed Cefn Druids to Halkyn Road and made a great start as Brady McGilloway scored a great goal, volleying home from over 20 yards to give the keeper no chance. Town had more chances to add to their tally but found the Druids Keeper Louis Mackin in good form, saving well from Connor Littler and Graeme Williams.

The second half saw Cefn Druids creating more chances, with Mike Platt making a couple of good saves to keep the Wellmen in front, and Graeme Williams had a good chance to wrap the game up for the Wellmen but his shot went over the bar midway through the half.

The equaliser came late in the game, as a long ball over the top found Dan Forbes give chase and he chipped the ball over the advancing Mike Platt to draw the away side level. Druids could have snatched a late winner but Forbes saw his shot come back off the post.

The Result see's the side in 6th place in the Huws Gray Alliance and next up for the Wellmen is on Wednesday evening when Llanfair United make the journey up from Mid Wales.

The Reserves made the journey up to Corwen and played well during the first half, being 2-1 up after Dillon Garner had grabbed both Town's goals. JOsh Maldon missed a penalty for the Wellmen which would have increased their lead at the break.

Town struggled to cope with Corwen'long balls towards their centre forward, and paid the price as the home side scored two second half goals to take all 3 points. Kyle Macfarlane made some great saves for the Wellmen to keep the Corwen from increasing their lead.

The Reserves next face a big game next week in the Semi Final of the League Cup and will be looking to bounce back after today's defeat.
