Reserves keep the pressure on Penycae

Holywell Town Reserves chalked up their biggest win of the season with a 15-0 victory over Llangollen Town Reserves.

The Wellmen soon took control of the game and opened the scoring through Kyle Wilkes with 5 minutes played. A few minutes later, Jake Cooke is denied increasing Town's lead by the Llangollen keeper who saves well, but Town didn't have to wait too long to increase the lead as Jay Wilkes fired the Wellmen further ahead with a well taken goal from outside the area. Wilkes grabbed his second of the game 4 minutes later, picking up a great pass by Kyle Wilkes and dribbled past the keeper before slotting the ball home.
With 37 minutes on the clock, Town increased their lead through Janke Cooke, firing home past the keeper, then 3 minutes later, Kyle Wilkes grabs his second of the game, slotting the ball past the keeper in a one on one situation. Town were able to grab their 6th of the game on the stroke of half time, Jack Gibbons got up well to head the ball home from a corner to give Town a good 6-0 lead at the break.

Two minutes into the half Town increase their lead as Jay Wilkes fires home his hattrick the a few minutes later, Town win a penalty after Jack Pennington is felled in the box and Wayne Edwards fires home the spot kick. Two minutes later, Kyle Wilkes completed his hat trick, dribbling past the keeper before firing the ball home. A minute later, town grab their 10th of the game through a Owen Davies header, then with a quarter of an hour to go, Nathan Williams gets on the scoresheet, then a minute later Ryan Jones grabs a goal with a fierce shot which beat the keeper.

Town were on fire and a minute later, Mike Guest grabbed a goal to make it 13-0 to the Wellmen and as the time was coming up to full time, Captain Wayne Edwards long range effort flew in to make it 14-0 to Town. As the game entered injury time, Jack Pennington got Town's 15th as his chip beat the keeper.

It was a great dispaly by Town and keeps the pressure on leaders Penycae who face 3rd place Llay Welfare on Tuesday. Come on Town!
