Holywell Town Reserves bow out of the league cup after defeat against Penycae.

Penycae most definitely the best side we have come across this season and we can now concentrate on the League.
- Manager Eddie Barry

The Reserves welcomed 2nd place Penycae to Halkyn Road in the Quarter Final of the League Cup, and unfortunately for Town, the visitors ran out 3-1 winners.

The Reserves took the lead in the 15th minute as Josh Robertson was brought down in the penalty area. Wayne Edwards took the spot kick and fired past the keeper to give the Wellmen the lead.

The score remained 1-0 at the break, and soon after the match kicked off for the 2nd half, the Wellmen conceded a soft goal and Penycae scored to level the scores. The visitors scored two further goals in the second half to book their place in the semi final of the competition.

Manager Eddie Barry added, We were beaten today by the better side, and after falling behind, we battled to the end but didn't look like scoring, Penycae most definitely the best side we have come across this season and we can now concentrate on the League."
