Unfortunately for the Wellmen, the Merseyside outfit ran out 3-0 winners but despite the defeat, The Wellmen can take plenty of positives out of the game.

John Haseldin's men looked to make amends for that defeat and travelled to Ruthin Town on Tuesday night in search of their first victory of the pre-season campaign.

The Wellmen played better football and won 5-1, with new signings Connor Littler and Brett Cotton amongst the scorers.

Holywell Town next face Maghull of the West Cheshire League at Halkyn Road on Saturday 25th July with kick off at 2.30pm. Clubhouse will be open from 1.30pm for your pre-match pint.
