Holywell Town Football Club are delighted to have won the McDonald’s Welsh Community Football Club of the Year award for North East Wales.

The club received confirmation this morning that we had won the award which is a great honour and gives us great pride to be crowned the winners of Club of the year award and to recognised for our excellent achievements last season.

As a regional winner, we will now also be put forward to a panel which includes Ryan Giggs and Chris Coleman, who decide the national award winners. Winners of the national award will be told no later than the end of the second week in September.

Now in its eighth year, the annual Welsh Community Football Awards presented by McDonald’s aims to recognise and reward the people and clubs that are driving grassroots football in Wales.

Holywell Town Football Club would like to thank Sandie Mewis AM for nominating the club for the award and also to anyone else who may have nominated us.

This is a great achievement for the club on the eve of the new season and any further details will be published on here in due course.
