The Legends team beat the Fans team on Penalties to give Managers Mike Thomas and Andy Eriksen victory at Halkyn Road.

Played in front of a good crowd, the Legends should have taken the lead with 20 minutes or so on the clock but Fans keeper Justin Evans made a great save with his legs to prevent the Legends taking the lead. A few minutes later however, Evans was beaten as Darren Horne's shot took a slight deflection which wrong footed the keeper.

The Fans had a great chance minutes later as a great move involving Dan Williams who fed the ball to Tim Davies but his effort flew over Dave Walsh' crossbar.

John Haseldin went close early in the second half but his effort went over the bar before a Lee Jones free kick for the fans was saved and the follow up fell to Steve Noel Thomas, but his effort was saved. The Fans soon got back into the game, a great ball over from the left by Danny Hughes found Ben Lewis at the far post who fired the ball home.

The Legends took the lead again shortly afterwards but with 5 minutes remaining on the clock, Tim Davies scored a deserved equaliser firing home to the delight of his team mates.

With the scores locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes, the game went to a penalty shootout and in the end, the Legends came out on top, scoring all their penalties compared to the Fans 3 penalties.

We are also pleased to announce that over £530 was raised for Ruth Cartwright's charity walk along the Great Wall of China in aid of St Kentigern Hospice.

Many thanks to everyone who took part today and also to all those who came to watch the game. I'm sure you'll agree it was a great afternoon and an excellent amount of money raised for the charity.
