Late Winner Extends Reserves Winning Run

The Reserves scored a late winner to beat Mynydd Isa Reserves by 4 goals to 3 in Friday's Welsh National Reserves and Colts League.

The run goes on, 8 wins in a row for the Reserves and onto the big game next week now.

Inform Nathan Williams scored an early goal to put the Wellmen in control, firing home after a neat 1-2 after beating the defender. Town looked to extend the lead but it was the visitors who scored the next goal when Joey Jones put the scores level to make it all square at the interval.

The second half started and with a monute on the clock, Town had taken the lead, Ryan Edge fired home after being put in by Josh Robertson, and barely a minute had passed before Town had extended their lead as Jake Cooke (pictured) scored a great individual goal, running on from his own half, he beat a couple of challenges before going into the box and firing low into the bottom corner. It was one of the best goals Halkyn Road had seen in a long time and the Wellmen were 3-1 up.
Midway through the half, Nathan Jones pulled one back for Mynydd Isa before Thomas Mitchell grabs an equaliser, firning past Joe Lewis in the Holywell Town goal. With the game looking to be ending in a draw, The Wellmen had other ideas and in the last minute, Town grabbed the winner when Jake Cooke scored his second of the game and the points were Town's.

The Win see's the Wellmen remain top of the league ahead of next week's big game against 4th place Coedpoeth United.

Nathan WIlliams, scorer of the first goal added after the match, "What a way to win, I didnt have the best of games but still managed to grab a goal. The run goes on, 8 wins in a row for the Reserves and onto the big game next week now.
