Holywell Town have today strengthened their squad with two new signings.

Holywell Town have today strengthened their squad ahead of Saturday's visit of Llanberis to Halkyn Road.

Ian Griffiths signed for the Wellmen from neighbours Denbigh Town whilst Barry Calder has registered with Holywell Town for the forthcoming season.

Griffiths, (pictured) has Welsh Premier experience with Prestatyn Town and signed for Denbigh Town midway through last season and scored 11 League goals for the Central Park Club. Griffiths was a prolific scorer for Prestatyn Reserves and made the step-up to the first team. Has also played for Peterborough Schoolboys and had trials for Liverpool, as well as featuring for Rhyl Youth. A former Welsh schoolboy boxing champion.

Calder has spent the last 4 years at Buckley Town and his past clubs also include GAP Connah's Quay and Mynydd Isa. Calder is a versatile player who can play anywhere, has a winning attitude and always gives 100 per cent regardless of where he’s asked to play.

Holywell Town Manager John Haseldin added, "I am delighted to add to the squad two players with great exerience of higher league football and shows how far Holywell Town have come in the past 3 years being able to sign such quality players. Griffo is a proven goalscorer and is raring to go, he has a massive hunger to score and will be a huge success for us."

"Barry has captained Buckley Town and Mynydd Isa and is a versatile player. His experience and influence will without doubt rub off on our young squad."

Both will be added to Saturday's squad to face Llanberis and if selected, both will be looking to shine for their new club.

The Club would like to put on record their thanks to Denbigh Town FC for allowing the transfer to happen quickly and efficiently.
