Holywell Town fought back from 3 down to get a deserved draw in their final pre-season friendly ahead of next weeks League opener against Barmouth & Dyffryn United.
Flint had a dream start, going three up in the opening 10 minutes when Adam Bailey, Sam Jones (who recently signed for Flint from Holywell) and Josh Roberts gave the hosts a 3 goal lead.
Tom Carney pulled one back on 15 minutes, scoring with a shot from around the 25 yard line to give the keeper no chance. Wayne Edwards scored a stunning free kick from around 35 yards on the stroke of half time to give the Wellmen a glimmer of hope.
Town had a couple of chances to equalise in the second half, Edwards and Matty Roberts both going close before we got a deserved equaliser when Marc Gunther beat the Flint offside trap and raced on with the ball before shooting past the keeper.
It was a great test for the Wellmen ahead of next weeks league opener against Barmouth & Dyffryn and the spirit shown to pull back to 3-3 will put us in good stead for next season.
